Rules & fairness

A short, plain set of rules that keep the daily race honest.

Last updated August 2026

1. One race per UTC day

A race opens at 00:00 UTC and finalizes at 24:00 UTC. Once finalized, Fuel can no longer be spent and results become permanent in the archive.

2. One free Fuel per verified user per day

Each verified user receives exactly one free Fuel per day. Fuel does not accumulate: unspent Fuel expires at the reset.

Fuel may be spent on any live launch, including your own. Maker Fuel is always displayed separately from community Fuel.

3. Total Fuel and the Spotlight

The Spotlight is a competition on total Fuel. Total Fuel combines maker promotion and community support, so it is a visibility metric, not a quality verdict.

In the future real product, maker Fuel on a maker's own launch will be capped per race and disclosed on the product page. Any paid, sponsored or incentivized activity will be visibly labelled as such.

4. Unique non-owner support and Community Choice

Community Choice is decided by the number of unique non-owner supporters, not by Fuel volume. One person counts once, however much Fuel they spend.

This is the organic recognition signal, and it is intentionally kept separate from the Spotlight competition. A product cannot win Community Choice on maker Fuel.

5. Feedback and reviews

Feedback should be honest and useful. If any incentivized testing or review programme is introduced later, it will not require or reward positive sentiment, and incentivized contributions will be labelled.

6. Manipulation

Multiple accounts, coordinated vote trading, automated boosting, and incentivised support are not allowed. Affected products may be removed from a race and results recalculated.

7. What we will not do

No paid visibility or placement exists. Fuel cannot be bought. If paid visibility is introduced later, it will be visibly labelled and kept separate from Community Choice.

We do not fabricate activity. Every Fuel total, supporter count and visit count on the site comes from recorded actions by verified accounts.

8. Entering the race

Enter products you built or directly worked on. One entry per product; re-entering the same product on later days is not permitted unless it is a substantial new release.
